Mercedes STAR Diagnostics

Mercedes STAR Diagnostics is a set of tools, that are used to completely read out Mercedes, Smart and other Mercedes brands. It is like VAG group VAG-COM for Mercedes.

There's a party that can ship SD Connect C4 clones, including all cables and required software, called Stardiag. As long as you chose the R170 car base in the software, you should be able to read out the whole car, except for the TPMS, because those are from Chrysler, not Mercedes.

EPC

Mercedes has an Electronic Parts Catalog powered by Snapon and Hewlett-Packard. It does not contain any info about the Crossfire, but it does have info about all Mercedes cars and engines.

WIS / ASRA

Mercedes also has a tool to browse documentation and wiring schematics of Mercedes cars.

EWA

I suppose EWA stands for EPC, WIS, ASRA. Its the complete suite that you want to order parts and find out how to install them.

EWA Admin

The Admin tool is used for managing the Transbase databases, as well as licensing.

EWA error: "Unknown LAN ID"

This error is pretty vague, but it is due to a registry key being too big.

The contents of this key should not be bigger than 2048 bytes, otherwise it'll fail.

An easy fix is to disable IPv6 support on your network adapters.
