Although there is plenty of space in the motor compartiment of the Chrysler Crossfire, Chrysler never released a Crossfire with a V8. The tuning company Startech did, however, make a V8, called the STARTECH Crossfire 6.1S. This Crossfire is equipped with a M113 engine, with a displacement of 6 liters, and only 1 was made supposedly.

If you want to swap your engine from the stock 3.2L M112 V6 (or the supercharged version of the SRT6) to a M113 V8, you need to make sure of a couple things.

  1. You need a bigger alternator, so make sure you take one from a M113
  2. The stock radiator fan and plastic shroud is too deep. A full assembly with mechanical fan from a C43 (W202) should fit.
    1. Shroud: A202 505 42 55
    2. Mechanical fan: A113 200 01 23
    3. Mechanical fan clutch: A113 200 01 22
  3. The radiator hose has to be replaced, also take this from a C43 (W202)
  4. The AC needs a bracket, which is part of the driver side engine mount. Make sure you take this from a M113.
  5. The stock ECU can be used, if you prepare the missing drivers on the PCB.
  6. Make sure you have a wire harness that has ME2.8 connectors. These are 3 latching connectors, and a 6 pin connector. Such as A113 010 25 00 from a 2006 CLS500.
  7. The exhaust headers do not fit directly onto the Crossfire exhaust. What you can do, however, is cut off the 'front' two cylinder ports from the V8 header, and weld it to the rear two cylinder ports of the V6 exhaust headers.
  8. The transmission might not fit, as DaimlerChrylser changed the bolt pattern somewhere in 2004 of the flex plate / flex disk,
